A Decision to chase a dream.
Born in Detroit Michigan, I always was drawn to art and imagination at a young age. As an only child I spent a lot of time reading and drawing, as a teenager I began writing poetry to channel the emotions I had growing up in the city. When i was 18 i was introduced to my favorite means of creativity;I got my first camera. I used it as a tool to capture what I saw on my day to day in Detroit.
After high school I enrolled at U of M on a scholarship, deciding to go into the medical field. In addition to school, I began working as a brand ambassador for a local store downtown. The position reestablished my love for the city that raised me & furthered my knowledge of Detroit’s history & culture. While working I continued doing photography, branching off into fashion & merchandise photography. I utilized the city as the as the costar in many of my shoots. Doing this gave me a unique opportunity to watch the city’s growth while growing my skill set.
After working up to a creative management position i was forced to make a decision. I could fully commit to my schooling or try to springboard my management position into a career as a full-time artist. I made the decision to chase a dream. I left college & dove in headfirst, homing in on the different skillsets needed to better my versatility & creative abilities.
I began to better understand how these abilities can effectively tell the story of a brand, and how to make people feel connected to this story. It’s this connection that makes sales.
As things continued to progress, my efforts were halted due to the pandemic. When it was all said and done, the position i held was no longer there for me come back to. I moved on doing jobs in the trades but still longing to move towards my passions for art, creativity & Detroit.
So here we are, once again,
making a decision to chase a dream…
